Green Bonds and Other Private Financing Vehicles for Investing in Woodland Creation

One of the joys of working independently is that you can put together your own portfolio of activities. Some client projects, some research, and some writing and talking. I was invited by the EU research network Cost- Payments for Ecosystem Services (Forests for Water) to present at their autumn gathering in Bratislava in October this year. I shared my experiences with innovative financing structures for environmental services (water quality, forests), many of them spearheaded by public-private consortia in the United States. There are some really exciting developments taking place, although the pace is slow and most structures are fairly complex.
