Green Awards and IPOs
Towards the end of the strange year that was 2020, I was delighted to be part of two events which illustrate the strides being made in the market for green finance:
CICERO Green was awarded Best Green Bond Evaluation Expert by Global Finance International. They said: CICERO Shades of Green allows investors to see the wood and the trees, with a triple-colour ranking system for green and sustainable bonds. I am delighted to be part of the CICERO team and to support this think tank’s robust and nuanced methodology for analysing green finance. You can read more here
Scandinavian Biogas - one of the leading waste-based biogas producer in the Nordics - listed on the Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market. CICERO Green awarded the company a Dark Green shading just before the IPO, which included a dark green rating of all its revenues and investments and an assessment of ‘good’ for its climate-related governance structures. Company assessments such as this extend the methodology applied to green bonds to give a holistic assessment of a company, not just its immediate investment plans. It will be exciting to follow the attention on ‘green IPOs’ going forward: will they become ‘a thing’?. You can read more on the IPO here
